Bullworkers - the bullworker is the best isometric muscle contraction exercise home gym workout machine. The Bullworker is a muscle building classic. Bullworker is  one of the few instantly recognisable names in the world of exercise and muscle training workouts. With more than 9 million of these isometric training devices sold world wide it is the single piece of home gym training equipment that set a generation or more to develop muscle in the comfort of their own home. The original Bullworker went through a series of enhancements culminating in the Bullworker X5. Just before the demise of the original company a few variants were launched including the Lady Bullworker and the Teen Bullworker. Nowadays the Bullworker legacy is carried on by the likes of the Steel Bow, Bully Extreme and Iso7x. This site is designed to be a fan site, promoting the use of bullworkers, bullworker training and related isometric exercise. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer of any hardware training equipment.

The basic principal behind the original bullworker was that of isometric muscle contraction. Isometric contraction, is one in which the muscle is activated, but instead of being allowed to lengthen or shorten, it is held at a constant length. This isometrics muscle contraction is not done through a range of movements but in a static position. Isometrics is based on the principles of creating muscular tension while opposing the force of an immovable object or gravity. Isometrics are done with high levels of intensity (70-100%) rather than repetitious movements typically for a period of 7-12 seconds. Once the muscle is relaxed after the contraction increases blood flow to the muscles occurs which equals more nutrition and energy uptake which in turn increases the muscle mass (size). Later on the principals behind the bullworker were enhanced so as to make it more of a muscle building, as opposed to just pure strength building piece of home gym apparatus with the introduction of repetitions. This involved several repetitions pushing or pulling and releasing throughout the full range of the movement (or as far as your strength would allow you) and on the final repetition then doing the traditional bullworker hold phase or isometric contraction.

The Bullworker

The Bullworker is one of the few meaningful brands in the field of muscle building. At this point we do need to make clear that we fully acknowledge any or all trademarks and the terms used are purely to assist with identification. Virtually all of the top physiques of a certain area have tried or used the bullworker at some stage although many moved away from the product due, not in small part, to the instructions that came with both the original and current variants of the product as they have all failed to appreciate what muscle really need to grow. For training programs recommended by the manufacturers check out our bullworker training chart. Part of the reason for the development of this site is in Bullworker terms to "go where no man has gone before" and address the outer limits of the product exploring extreme training programs aimed at getting extreme results. We will also look at the products in terms of rehabilitation and weight loss but in the main the focus of this site is on pure natural muscle building but at a level way beyond the originally envisaged scope of the product.

There are so many different types of muscle building protocol each "guaranteeing" to be the BEST, FASTEST etc - some make huge claims such as GAIN 20 POUNDS OF SOLID MUSCLE IN 90 days - GUARANTEED! Short of taking huge amounts of chemical steroids and Growth Hormone injections most people generally appreciate that this sort of claim is ridiculous, but still some people are conned. The original Bullworker was a modern muscle building classic. Bullworker training for a while was all the rage. It was marketed and seen being used by the likes of Mohammed Ali, Arnold Schwarzenegger and even Darth Vader (David Prowse). For some reason though the company lost its direction and just as with Boxing years ago there was an "undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World" and now there are lots of different federations each having its own "World Champion" so the same has happened to the Bullworker with several companies all claiming to be the natural successor to the throne. We will express no opinions as to which is best. We will though test each variant and give an honest appraisal. In fairness though just as with Motor Cars, everyone will have their own preferences, so the same applies here. So, in our opinion, it makes little difference if you use a Bully Xtreme, Steel Bow, Iso7X or an original Bullworker - it is HOW you use it that makes the difference. And it is in the HOW that we will bring this type of training into the 21st century and provide you with a scientific platform that will allow you, no matter which version of the product you use, to truly achieve your muscle building goals.

EXTREME MUSCLE BUILDING - only for adults 21+ who want to add large amounts of muscle and burn excess body fat.

The Bullworker was invented by Gert F Kolbel in the 1960's when he adapted an original patent belonging to Arthur A Pons. The Bullworker is probably the most successful piece of home gym equipment sold via mail order and joins the likes of Charles Atlas as being a true pioneer in the world of muscle building alongside Eugene Sandow, Arthur Jones, John Little and Joe Weider.
